Swim and Survive is the perfect environment for kids to consolidate foundation skills, acquire new skills and increase distance and duration, all while having fun, being challenged and making friends. Our aim is to build a nation of strong swimmers to enjoy the water safely. No matter the abilities or aspirations our swimming, water safety and lifesaving pathways seek to provide opportunities to learn, grow and interact. We open the door for participants to a lifetime of safe aquatic recreation, active participation and even a career pathway.
Features
What will my child learn?
Safety and inclusivity for all children
Everyone has the potential to acquire and develop swimming and water safety skills, so we aim to create a positive, safe, and inclusive experience for all.
Acquisition and consolidation
Children will participate at their own ability and progress through levels as they acquire skills and knowledge. It’s important to consolidate the skills before moving on to more complex and challenging tasks.
National Swimming and Water Safety Framework
Swim and Survive offers your child the opportunity to achieve the development milestones of the National Swimming and Water Safety Framework and meet and exceed the National Benchmarks. The Benchmark for a 6 year old is Level 3, a 12 year old is Level 7, and a 17 year old is Bronze Medallion
Pathway Options
Once students have graduated from level 7, they have the option to choose 2 different pathways. One option is to progress through to a Bronze Star and Bronze Medallion, with a pathway into Surf Lifesaving or even a career as a lifeguard. Students can also choose to join our pre squad and squad program, where you will focus on the 4 competitive strokes and build fitness and endurance in preparation for competitive swimming
Late starters
We understand that some teenagers have not had the opportunity to learn to swim or have basic skills they want to improve so they can join in the fun with their friends. Swim and Survive is inclusive for all and teenagers can join in too!
